I love this side table in my living room! It's got a built-in charging station with 2 USB ports and 2 power outlets, making it super convenient for charging my devices without extra cords. It's sturdy, stylish, and fits perfectly under my sofa. Assembly was easy, and I highly recommend it for its functionality and style.

  • Question

I'VE HAD IT.LOWERING MY RATING TO 1 STAR.That's a pretty big deal, since I started out at 4. But I have a problem with the item (noted in my original review, below). At the bottom of the product description on the Amazon ad, an entire bullet paragraph is devoted to their commitment to quality, and their encouragement to contact them if you have any problem. Even the assembly instructions proclaims WE ARE HERE TO HELP, and directs you to contact customer service. However, there's NO contact information on the page for the table, nothing on their Amazon store site, and nothing on the printed directions either. At the bottom of the Amazon page for the item, there's a hot link under Warranty and Support. That leads to a page that says, in tiny letters:Please contact the seller directly for warranty information for this product. You may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer’s website. Finally, I googled and found a webpage with the store name and logo. Although they didn't list this desk, they did have products similar to those on the page for their Amazon store. I assume it's the correct company.Any contact info there? Sort of. There's a page that lets you provide your email address, note your issue, and click SEND.So I noted my problem (four of the screws aren't the correct size). That shouldn't be a big deal. And after all, they proclaim that they're here to help. But I never even received an email acknowledgement, not even a automatic response. I've waited for 2 days, and NOTHING.I went back to their website to look for a phone number, but there isn't one.So now the table is sitting here, partially completed, just adding to the mess.Perhaps a 1 star review will get their attention.-------------------------I was *really* excited about this laptop table. My workspace is a mess of tangled power cords, so this is great for taming them. And space is an issue, the compact size is a plus. But one flaw that arose when I was assembling it was *very* frustrating. I've detailed that at the end of this review. The table feels pretty sturdy, so I'm not worried about it falling apart with a little pressure.I like the width of the top piece. My laptop overhangs about an inch on each side, and that's fine. If that does seem to be an issue, I imagine I can use the table sideways, and the laptop will fit perfectly. Of course in either direction, there's no room for a mouse. I use the touchpad on my laptop, so that's not a problem for me.I like the little shelf attached about a foot below the top. It's a perfect spot to charge my cellphone while I'm working. It's out of the way, but easily within reach. There's a second USB port, in case I want to charge a second device. There are 2 power outlets, as well. My only issue with them is that they're too close together, so if I want to power more than one item with a wide plug (that my laptop needs), I'll have to plug in a power strip and rest it on the shelf, to keep the chords and cables off the floor. All four outlets/connectors work well. There is one minor issue, and one annoying one:The minor issue is that the directions show assembling this with the four ports on the outside. I assembled it with them inside, because that way, the cables can rest on the shelf, instead of on the floor behind the table. Zip ties are included to keep the cords from flopping around on the floor. All of the parts are labeled well, and the directions are pretty easy to follow by just looking at the pictures and corresponding the callouts with the labels on the parts. But the major issue is the 4 screws in the sealed bag marked C.They're too short.I thought maybe I was looking at the drawing wrong. Then I thought I was using the wrong screws, so I checked to see of others were more appropriate. Then I thought the correct set had fallen on the floor. I thrashed around for about half an hour. I got a flashlight and looked under things. But nope, the screws provided aren't appropriate for the required purpose. When I finished assembling things (using screws I hunted down from a stash), the 4 screws marked C were unused, so this is a miscalculation on the part of the manufacturer. And since these are needed in Step 3 (of 8 steps), this was very annoying in the middle of what would have been a pretty straightforward project. So I'm taking off a star, even though I like the finished table a lot, because as I write this review, I'm still really aggravated.

I really wanted to like this little table. The directions were mostly straightforward except for one part that just didn't make sense from the pictures, but if you think about it logically, you could figure it out. You must review the parts so you understand the differences between the top rectangle and the bottom. But that minor need to use my brain wasn't that bad. The real issue I found is that one of the metal screw holes wasn't drilled/threaded properly and so the screw wouldn't fit into it. I ended up just leaving it out, it's not horrible but it's annoying, especially for a kit that has everything you need to put it together. I don't have a way of rethreading the hole myself either. It is still reasonably steady without that one screw and usable, but it doesn't seem as robust as it could be fully assembled. The quality control on this was unfortunate. The gold color is also just okay, it's almost a slightly sparkly mustard color instead of gold. The screws are much brighter and are shiny brass in color. They don't look bad together actually since the colors are different enough. The white marble overlay on the particle board is also just okay. It has very little marble gray coloring on top, so without it, it looks more like plastic-covered particle board than marble.

I like the charge station on this table, specifically how it is not on top. I've seen others with the ugly bits on the top, not a fan.I enjoy the black wood pattern the engineered wood has.Aside from that it's a pretty short pro list. For what it is its, fine. They came up with some interesting ways to get it into a smaller box, like the four tall legs are two piece and have to be bolted together, which is fine. The main thing I do not like, is the value. I feel like $50 is a bit much for this. It's really small, and not something that is going to last.It it was priced around the $30 mark I would give it 4 star. That said, value is subjective, if you love it, go for it, I can't find anything wrong with it other than it is cheaply made.

It's not the most beautiful piece of furniture, it's not made with super-tight tolerances, and it's quite small. I was initially surprised at the diminutive (and short) size, but then I decided to put it next to my couch and it was the perfect height and didn't take up much room. The USB and power outlets are convenient (although I probably would prefer it come with more USB ports, maybe a few of the newer USB-C ports). The assembly is easy, the assembly instructions are acceptable but not great (typical for these flat-pack kits), but the parts are clearly marked and there isn't too much frustration. Extra screws are included, which is always nice, just in case.So overall I'm happy with this inexpensive little table, just make sure the size and height is right for what you want to use it for.
